Affirmiry
Sunday, February 15th, 12-3pm, @ Balance Yoga
Centered in community care for women & femme folks, this event provides a safe space to heal our nervous systems, rest, and be taken care of. Join me and a team of spiritual and healthcare practitioners for an afternoon of massage, reiki, guided movement, and space to rest & connect in a safe environment.
“This is a sanctuary created for women to soften, to breathe, and to be held in an atmosphere of pure devotion. It is a time of receiving, rest, and restoration, a sacred pause where you do not have to give, fix, or perform. You are simply invited to be.” - Kirstin Hansen
***$15 donation, but no one will be denied for inability to pay. Email klh@kirstinhanson.com and your space will be held. In the spirit of sacred reciprocity, please bring an offering in the form of clothing/food donations, art, a thank you note, or anything that feels meaningful to you.
Safe in Your Skin: A Somatic Course for Overwhelmed Bodies (Free)
Sundays February 1st, 8th, 15th @ 5-6:15pm (Live via Google Meet)
Your body remembers what your mind tries to forget.
Maybe you wake up exhausted no matter how much you sleep. Maybe your jaw is clenched so tight it aches, your shoulders live somewhere up near your ears, and your body feels like a stranger you're carrying through each day. Maybe you've been told it's all in your head, or that you just need to relax, try harder, think more positively—while your body screams that something deeper is wrong.
If you live with chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, or a nervous system that never quite settles, please know this: You are not broken. You are not too sensitive. You are not failing at being well.
Your body is speaking to you in the only language it knows—through tension, through pain, through shutdown, through that constant hum of vigilance that won't let you rest. It's trying to tell you something important: it remembers when the world wasn't safe, and it's still trying to protect you.
This course is for those of us who:
Carry trauma in our tissues and live with bodies that won't let us forget
Experience chronic pain, fatigue, or autoimmune conditions that medicine can't quite explain
Feel too much or feel nothing at all—both extremes of a nervous system pushed beyond its limits
Oscillate between pushing ourselves to breaking and collapsing into exhaustion
Have been told we're "too sensitive" when our bodies are actually reading the room correctly
Long to feel safe in our own skin but don't know how to get there
Are tired of being told to just breathe, journal, or think our way out of what lives in our bones
In this tender space, we'll explore:
Why your body responds the way it does—and how these responses kept you alive
The beautiful, protective intelligence of your nervous system and its three states of being
How trauma, chronic stress, and systemic oppression literally live in our bodies and make us sick
The profound connection between an overwhelmed nervous system and physical illness
Gentle, embodied practices to release what's been held too long in your jaw, your neck, your hips
Permission to stop blaming yourself and start listening to what your body has been trying to tell you
Why healing can't happen in isolation—and how we hold each other in the work of becoming whole
This isn't about fixing yourself or doing enough work to finally earn rest. This isn't about regulating yourself into silence or performing wellness for a world that made you sick. This is about learning to be with your body—all its pain, all its wisdom, all its justified fear—with compassion instead of shame.
